JESI SUMMER SCHOOL ON MATERIALS SCIENCE

Every year our section organises an international school on advanced Materials Science and technology that is held in Jesi (a little town close to Ancona) at the end of the summer.

The aim of this school is to present the most modern knowledge in the field of Materials Science by considering the most interesting applications in production sectors, likes the aerospace industry, automotive and mechanical in general (in particular in the field of composite materials reinforced with nanoparticles), in the field of coatings, of microelectronics and of the biomedical industry.

The school is addressed to physicists, chemists, engineers, material scientists, biotechnologists, belonging not only to universities and research centers, but also to the industries. In fact also technicians of Small Medium-Size Enterprises would take advantage from the participation to this school, also if their companies do not intend to be involved immediately in this kind of activities, in order to have the necessary information to exploit the products of the nanotechnologies and to plan the proper eventual involvements in the future.

INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON APPLICATIONS OF CHITOSAN IN MEDICAL SCIENCES

(25 - 26 January 2007 - Venice, Italy)

The conference will take place in Venice (Italy) at the Island of San Servolo, from January 25 to 26, 2007. The purpose is to provide an international forum for presenting and discussing the applications of chitosan in medical science. It is intended to focus on a wide area of applications including food additives, digestive dysfunction treatment, drug delivery, tissue repair and stem cells technology.
The conference will be hosted and organized in collaboration with the Venice International University.

SAS2002 XII INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SMALL ANGLE SCATTERING

(August 25- 29, 2002 Venice, Italy)

The purpose of the International Conference on Small-Angle Scattering is to give scientists using small angle scattering (X-ray, neutron, light) the opportunity of meeting to present and discuss their new developments in all aspects of the use of this technique in science and technology. This Conference is addressed to a large audience of physicists, chemists, biologists and material scientists interested in structure determination at a low resolution in solids, soft-matter, fluids and solutions.
